A national judge blocked Donald Trump‘s executive bid that prohibited national agencies from providing backing to NPR and PBS.
U.S. District Judge Randolph Moss, successful a ruling issued connected Tuesday, wrote that nan president’s executive bid “singles retired 2 speakers and, connected nan ground of their speech, bars them from each federally funded programs.”

Part of his ruling is now moot. Last summer, nan Republican controlled Congress rescinded each national backing to nan entity that distributed nationalist media money, nan Corporation for Public Broadcasting. The CPB later dissolved.
But Moss noted that PBS and NPR still received grants from different national agencies and entities. He wrote, “The connection is clear: NPR and PBS request not use for immoderate national use because nan President disapproves of their ‘left-wing’ sum of nan news. Because nan First Amendment does not tolerate viewpoint favoritism and retaliation of this type, nan Court will rumor judgement against nan federal- agency defendants declaring Section 3(a) of nan Executive Order is unconstitutional and will rumor an injunction barring those defendants from implementing it.”
